Jesus Arrives in Bethany

Bethany, General View of the Village

This small town sits just east of Jerusalem on the eastern slopes of the Mount of Olives. This was a town of Mary, Martha and Lazarus, whom Jesus resurrected (John 11:1-37). From here Jesus started his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, sending his disciples to get a colt for him to ride (Mark 11:1-11).
